IPOB, others not different from ISWAP, Boko Haram – Gbajabiamila talks tough

Separatist organizations in the south have been compared by the Speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, to insurgents in the northeast, Boko-Haram and ISWAP.

Miscreants posing as separatist organizations, according to Mr Gbajabiamila, have a limited tolerance for differing thoughts or viewpoints, making them comparable to the murderous gangs in the northeast.

According to him, the government should include all separatists in the South on its list of worries.

“Miscreants and criminals posing as separationist activists have appeared in the south, east, and west of Nigeria to create havoc, take lives, and conduct economic sabotage against fellow Nigerians,” the Speaker said.

“Their reluctance to engage in dialogue, or to accept the possibility of dissident ideas and alternative viewpoints, is no different from that of Boko Haram and ISWAP,” he adds.

Nigeria would use all available resources, he said, to eradicate the country's insecurity.
