Read The Letter Boko Haram Distributed To Yobe Residents

Earlier today, it was reported that the Boko Haram insurgents, before they attacked the Geidam community in Geidam LGA of Yobe State, circulated copies of letters to the residents, announcing that they had invaded the community to fight a Jihad war with the Nigerian Army.

Recall that hours ago, the insurgents reportedly invaded the Geidam community, which is also the hometown of the acting Inspector-General of Police, Alkali Usman Baba. According to reports, the insurgents shot sporadically, causing unrest in the town as residents flee for safety.

In the distributed copies of letters which were all written in the Hausa language, the Boko Haram insurgents threatened to kill anyone who stops them from carrying out their sworn jihad duty or anyone who teams up with the Nigerian Army.

According to Sahara Reporters, a part of the letter reads, "We are currently fighting Jihad war against the Nigerian Army, together with their sponsors. And if anyone decides to take sides with the Nigerian Army or stop us from our Jihad, he or she will be killed."

Sahara Reporters further stated that the Boko Haram terrorists had earlier attacked the base of special forces of the 27 task force Brigade, killing at least three soldiers while about 171 others are yet to be found.

The Boko Haram insurgents, as a means of confirming their jihad on the Nigerian Army, destroyed heavy military equipment. A source claimed that the Boko Haram insurgents burnt 1 105MMPH Artillery gun, 1 Camel, and one T72 tank.

The military camp was also razed down by the insurgents.
