Killing, Burning Of Houses Is Not The Best Way To Battle Over Border Crisis In Any Part Of Nigeria

The community clash between the Gungura community in Ganjuwa Local Government Area of Bauchi State and the Buri-Buri community of Dukku Local Government of Gombe State on Wednesday has raised so much tension among Nigerians to the extent that so many people have started reacting towards it.

Nevertheless, an unspecified number of people were killed during the communal clash that erupted between the two communities.

According to Daily Post, The clash also led to the destruction of properties worth millions of Naira, including many houses and farmlands.

The member representing Ganjuwa East Constituency in the Bauchi State House of Assembly, Honourable Gazali Abubakar Wunti, disclosed on the floor of the Assembly on Wednesday under matters of urgent public importance.

The lawmaker informed that people from Buri Buri village in Gombe State invaded Bara village in Gungura ward in Ganjuwa LGA to perpetrate the attack on Wednesday.

However, so many Nigerians are anxious about knowing if killing and burning Of houses will help to end the communal clash between the two communities.

Firstly, Nigerians should understand that killing and burning of houses over border crises may give rise to conflict, and constitutionally it is bad. Instead, both communities should dialogue because dialogue will help to resolve any problem. I believe if the two communities come together to dialogue, peace will be restored and the burning of houses will end in the communities.

Secondly, the government should deploy security operatives to the community to secure lives and properties in the community.
