In the Southeast, there have been several attacks on government facilities and security formations alleged to be perpetrated by unknown gunmen.
In the last few weeks, the security situation in Anambra, one of the Southeast States took a different turn by the level of security situations in the state.

Unknown gunmen have carried out several attacks that resulted in the deaths of innocent people of the states.
The recent attack by the gunmen in the State also led to the death of Dr. Chike Akunyili, the husband of late Director-General of NAFDAC, Prof. Dora Akunyili. Security formations have also been targeted by unknown gunmen in their attacks.
This is coming when Anambra State is preparing for the governorship election in the State scheduled to hold on November 6, 2021.
Angered by the incessant attacks in Anambra State, the Nigerian Army has launched 'Exercise Golden Dawn’, to provide security in the Southeast State.

According to a report by Vanguard Newspaper, the Nigerian Army revealed that the exercise is aimed at restoring security in Anambra State.

The Exercise Golden Dawn launched by the Nigerian Army will go a long way to end the activities of the unknown gunmen that have been carrying out attacks in Anambra State.
Remember that after the launching of the exercise there will be a full military presence in the State to help fight the activities of the gunmen and restore normalcy in the State.

The military will also rely on intelligence gathering to fight the gunmen and know how they operate.
