Insecurity has been a major challenge in Nigeria following the emergence of bandits, the criminals that were on the verge of becoming the lords of North West, Nigeria. It has been a case of Boko Haram striking on Monday, bandits kidnapping on Tuesday.

These bandits kept on carrying out attacks with impunity until the Nigerian military troops began to bombard their camps. They have before now, rendered some villagers homeless in their hometown as many of them couldn't go to bed with their two eyes closed.

The incessant killings, abduction and attacks by bandits in the Northern part of Nigeria led to the call for them to be declared terrorists. These bandits went from carrying out attacks on land vehicles to shooting down military fighter jets.
The Nigerian government had explained in detail that bandits wouldn't be proscribed as terrorists because they got no identity or organisation. They are considered criminals and would be treated as one.

However, a report reaching our desk from Sahara Reporters, alleged that the dreaded Boko Haram militants are currently working in collaboration with bandits, and are training them on how to use anti-aircraft guns, explosives, and other weapons.
Analysts said there were growing signs that Boko Haram and bandits were forming deeper alliances in which both sides benefited: Boko Haram would supply arms to these bandits while profiting from criminal activity.
It was earlier reported that the Boko Haram terrorist had relocated from Sambisa Forest, Borno State to Rijana forest in Kaduna's Chikun local government area.
As the saying goes, "Show me your friend and I will tell you who you are". If the report that Boko Haram and bandits are forming a strong alliance is true, the Nigerian Government might have no other option than to declare these bandits as terrorists since they now wine and dine with terrorists.
