The rise of nuclear weapons began with the creation of "Little boy" and "Fat man" nuclear bomb which were detonated in Hiroshima and Nagasaki respectively within the space of 3 days in World War 2 in August 1945 which killed approximately 140,000 people before the end of the year.
This singular action triggered the era of nuclear weapons and arms race amongst the nations of the world. No nation wants to be left behind as such they all got to working on making nuclear weapons that can destroy cities in seconds.
Russia currently possess the most dangerous nuclear weapon on earth and was tested in 1961. The nuclear weapon is not an Atomic bomb but a hydrogen bomb. For proper understanding of what an Hydrogen bomb is, here are the types of nuclear weapons we have.
TYPES OF NUCLEAR BOMBS
There are basically two types of nuclear weapons.
Atomic Bomb
The enormous amount of nuclear energy that is released by this bomb produces a large amount of heat and electricity. Atomic nuclear weaponโs explosive power is measured in yield, which is expressed in tons of TNT. Fission, or atomic bombs, can be as small as one kiloton (KT) of explosive power or as large as several hundred kilotons.
This is in contrast to the much larger thermonuclear or hydrogen bombs, which can be a thousand times bigger than atomic bombs.
Thermonuclear Bomb
Thermonuclear weapons, are often referred to as Hydrogen bombs or H-bombs, this type of nuclear weapon have extreme explosive powers which are obtained through the process of nuclear fusion โ the process of forming a heavier nucleus from two lighter ones.
The explosion of an H-bomb produces a blast that can destroy structures within a radius of several miles, extreme heat that can spark firestorms and intense white light that can induce blindness.
The Radioactive fallout which are release into the environment are highly unstable fragments or byproducts of fission which can poison living creatures and contaminate air, water and soil for hundreds of years. Hydrogen bombs can be thousands of times more powerful than atomic bombs.
Tsar Bomba

This is the Soviet hydrogen bomb, known with different code names such as King of Bombs, Project 27000, Product Code 202, RDS-220, Kuzinka Mat (Kuzkaโs Mother) but it is now currently known as Tsar Bomba. It is the most powerful nuclear weapon ever created. It was tested on 30 October 1961. it also remains the most powerful human-made explosive ever detonated. Sensors registered the bombโs blast wave orbiting the Earth not once, not twice, but three times. This is a hell of a bomb.

This bomb was created by Russia former USSR to show the world that they had a more powerful weapons than the United States. The bomb was 3,800 times the size of the bomb US used against Japan.
The Tsar Bomba was so big that it couldnโt be placed on a missile, and so heavy that the biggest planes designed to carry it wouldnโt have been able to take them all the way to their targets with enough fuel. It was as a result of this that some scientists began to believe it was too big to be used.
However This King of Bombs called Tsar bomb has been labeled a propaganda bomb which means it's was just created to show military might to deter enemy nations but would be too big to be used in a conventional warfare.

Don't panic King of bombs may never get to be used because of it's power and capacity especially with the treaty on the non-proliferation of nuclear Weapons, commonly known as the non-proliferation treaty or NPT which was signed by some powerful States on the 1st of July 1968 but took effect from the 5th of March 1970.
NPT is a body that seeks to to prevent the spread of nuclear weapons and weapons technology, and promote cooperation in the peaceful uses of nuclear energy.

Furthermore, they even hope to achieve nuclear disarmament and general complete disarmament where no country would possess or want to use a nuclear weapon in warfare.
