Simple Ways Nigeria Can Easily Win This Insecurity War

It is no more a hidden fact that Nigeria is facing serious problem with insecurity at the moment. Whether the Government likes it or not it's time for we to put our house in order.

In the Northern Part of Nigeria Boko Haram is on rampage, In the south East and south west there is an agitation for secession and in the middle belt they are facing the bandits and cattle herders.

According to Forbes, Nigeria is ranked 3rd on the list of the most terrorized countries in the world and accounted for 13% all terrorist related deaths in 2018 globally . Although the Federal Government had in most occasions assured the citizens that it is winning the war against terrorism but what we see on ground at the moment leaves us to wonder.

Can Nigeria Win The War Against Insecurity? The answer is Yes.

For Nigeria to win this war against Insecurity, the Government at all levels must first be truthful to themselves and the people. The Insecurity level has gone beyond media denial to what i would call reality check. Government at all levels should address the citizens telling them the truth on policies it has taken so far to curb this issues and ask for the support of the citizens in arresting insecurity. The Federal Government should seek for foreign help from other countries with regards to weapons and logistics.

Over the years we have heard issues of missing funds with regards to acquisition of arms for the military and other agencies. It is very alarming that at this point when insurgency is at its peak in Nigeria, monies ment for arms will just disappear. Government should not just only probe these missing funds but also make sure that it gets directly involved with the purchase of these arms. The executive should take it upon itself to directly purchase these arms with out futher allocation of funds, this will help boost the moral of our gallant soldiers.

Finally for me, the major cause of this Insecurity we are facing today is the high rate of poverty and neglect in the society. The rich has continued getting richer while the poor languish more in poverty.

Our Government seems more not to be interested in the social welfare of the people. The Government should have a rethink with regards to this issue, citizens welfare should be prioritised. Education and social welfare should should be the watch word for our Government.

Kidnapping and Banditry gradually became a lucrative business in Nigeria because of the perceived notion of rewards and future amenities granted by the government.

Government at all levels should not in anyway be seen as condoning or pampering criminals because it will encourage many more to join.
