The activities of unknown gunmen in the southeastern region has been a cause for concern to Nigerians. A day hardly passes by without a report of their evil act. On 3 October 2021, the unit offices of the State Security Service and the Federal Road Safety Commission was burnt down by gunmen suspected to be members of IPOB. Another group of arsonists attacked the resident of Joe Igbokwe in Nnewi, Anambra State. Several others have also lost their lives due to the activities of these unscrupulous elements.
If these gunmen should continue with their evil ways, the military might be forced to treat them the way bandits are been treated in the northwestern region.
It should be noted that the military now has sophisticated weapons that can withstand enemies both from within and outside the country. The recently acquired Super Tucano Fighter jet have been used to make life a living hell for bandits. Reports have it that these criminals scamper for safety on hearing the sound of the fighter plane. With the constant chaos caused by unknown gunmen in the southeast, their hideouts might be bombarded too by the Nigerian Air Force. Like we all know, these gunmen can't withstand the Nigerian Armed Forces in battle, as they might not have the required weapons to do so. The earlier they stop their evil activities, the better for them.
Residents of the southeast should help the military by providing vital information that will help in fishing out these evil men who are hell-bent on causing turmoil in the region.
