It is an American prototype 155 mm turreted self-propelled howitzer based on the pre-existing M109A7 and was primarily designed to improve the M109’s effective range.
With an outstanding firing rate of 10 rounds per minute, the armored tank makes use of a 155 mm L/58 caliber XM907 gun that will fire the XM1113 rocket-assisted round when deployed.
The 155mm Extended Range Cannon Artillery (ERCA) has auto-loading capabilities making it very efficient and rapid in operation.
The 155MM ERCA is also called the “Iron thunder”, with an ability to rotate 360 degrees, the armored vehicle has an effective firing range of 70–100 kilometers during an operation.
The American “Iron Thunder” 155MM ERCA SPH artillery system can accommodate 4 crews comprising of a commander, driver, loader, and gunner.
