Two Major Differences Between The Death Of ISWAP Leader, Al-Barnawi And Boko Haram's leader, Shekau

Two popular terrorist groups in Africa, which are the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP) and the Boko Haram, have in the past years continued to wreak havoc on human lives and properties, causing many to live in fear despite the strict actions that have been taken to eradicate them by various security agencies.

These two terrorist groups have not only been overwhelmed by the military, but the news of the death of their respective leaders has been reported.

Though the death of these two leaders could be a step to achieve success in the fight against terrorism and criminality for the military, it seems quite obvious that there are two differences between their deaths.

The first major difference is that the manner in which Abubakar Shekau of Boko Haram died was quite well-known, according to various verifiable sources, he detonated an explosive device during a fight against the rival jihadist fighters after he was overwhelmed.

However, this isn't the case of ISWAP leader, Al-Barnawi, as the circumstances surrounding his death are quite unknown, according to Daily Trust, where the chief of the defense staff, Lucky Irabor, only confidently assured the public of the death of the leader, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi

The second difference between the death of these two leaders is that Abubukar Shekau's death was likely revealed by his rival militant in an audio recording, according to the report, unlike the news of Al-Barnawi's death which was revealed by the Nigerian Army during the ministerial briefing organized by the presidential communications team in Abuja.

The news of their death may not only bring a sense of relief to all those who have fallen victims to their horrible deeds, but will pave the way for the military to achieve success against this fight.
