One Important Decision Gov El-Rufai Should Take As Bandits Kill 10 Members Of Same Family In Kaduna

Gunmen, otherwise known by many as bandits, have struck Madamai Abun in the Kaura local government area of Kaduna state killing thirty-four persons including 10 from same family.

Kaura local government, which is a restive area in Kaduna state, was attacked by bandits who stormed the area in their group. The bandits unleashed terror attacks on the innocent villagers around 7p.m. over the weekend, precisely on Sunday.

Relating the incident, the spokesman for the people of Southern Kaduna union, Luka Binniyat, said 10 persons from the same family were among the victims killed in the attack.

Mr Binniyat, who lamented over the attack, said villagers were killed in their scores while many were still reportedly missing, several houses set ablaze, and several other victims who sustained varying degrees of injuries were rushed to the hospital and are now receiving treatment at undisclosed hospitals in the state.

Samuel Aruwan, the state commissioner of police and home affairs on his part authoritatively, confirmed the sad incident to newsmen but put the casualty figure at 34.

According to the state commissioner, Governor Nasir El-Rufai was deeply pained and condemned the sad incident in its totality.

Must this spate of attacks continue unchecked in the state, so much that the governor keep sending condolence messages to the affected families and providing succour to the victims? No, this must not linger on! Otherwise, these bandits who need to be seriously dealt with and sent to their Maker would persistently take the state for a ride, if nothing serious is done to stem the tide of terror attacks by bandits in the state.

What one important decision should Gov El-Rufai take now to avert a re-occurrence of this unfortunate incident going forward?

One important decision the governor needs to take now as it has worked in Zamfara is to give a temporary directive to all telecommunications networks in the state to cut off services. This is with a view to wiping out a sizeable number of these monstrous men that have, for so long, caused pains and wreak havoc on the state in particular as well as peace-loving and law-abiding citizens of the Federal Republic of Nigeria.

Recall that the effectiveness of the shut-down of the telecommunications networks in Zamfara was confirmed, days after Governor Bello Matawalle disclosed that bandits were releasing their captives while leaving their motorcycles, and fleeing their hideouts, and many of them killed by security operatives.

Dear readers, what is your take on this suggested decision to the governor? Do you agree or have your reservation on this as bandits
