The activities of Unknown Gunmen in the Southeast region has caused a lot of fear within the Southeastern States. These unknown gunmen have killed many people and destroyed numerous properties within the Southeast region.,
Also, the Nigerian military and security officers have been fighting against these unknown gunmen and some of them have been killed while their other members have been arrested.
However, a lot of people in the Southeast region are curious to know the identities of these Unknown Gunmen in the South-east region. Though some people believe that these unknown gunmen may be members of ESN (Eastern Security Network) created by IPOB (Indigeneous People Of Biafra).
It's important to recall that the Southeast governors created a regional security group known as Ebube Agu in order to tackle insecurity and criminal activities in the Southeast region. But this Ebube Agu group seems to be inactive in most of the Southeast states.
Recently, Senator Abaribe lamented over the incessant killings happening in the South-east region and he complained that Ebube Agu (the security group created by South-east governors) is not functioning properly within the region.
Abaribe made this statement while speaking to journalists immediately after a human rights lecture organised by HURIWA (Human Rights Writers Association of Nigeria).
So, a lot of people want to know if this Ebube Agu group can tackle the Unknown Gunmen in the Southeast region.
Nevertheless, I believe that Ebube Agu can stop the activities of unknown Gunmen if they are properly organized and supported by the state governments in the Southeast. This is because they can easily identify the members and hideouts of these Unknown Gunmen since they have lived in the southeast states for a long time.
Also, I believe that Ebube Agu can end the activities of unknown Gunmen because they can respond quickly to the attacks carried out by these unknown gunmen in some villages and communities.
