According tp reports,Mike Okon,27 years of age, and Wilson Sunday, 24 years of age, were apprehended and taken into custody by the security operatives when it was discovered that they were posing as soldiers with the intention of causing problems for residents in Delta state.
Following the information obtained by news reporters,during the search of their hideout on Sunday,12th March 2023, a pair of black jungle boots, an military camouflage uniform, and four different colored berets were found on Okon. Additionally, a black beret, three green berets were found on Wilson.
The Deputy Superintendent of Police,DSP Bright Edafe, the State Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO), issued a press report in which he verified the above-mentioned report, adding that both of the nabbed culprits are from Cross River state.
Edafe mentioned that, “the Command received information about a syndicate in Asaba planning to cause mayhem in the state, disguised as military personnel to deceive their unsuspecting victims".
“The Commissioner of Police, Delta State Command, CP Ari Muhammed Ali, detailed a combined team from the Department of Operations COBRA II, comprising operatives from Response Squad, Raiders Squad and operations department".
“They embarked on an intelligence-led operation on March 12, at about 6:30 am. The team stormed their hideout around Okwe Axis Asaba in Oshimili South LGA and arrested the suspects, Mike Okon, 27, and Wilson Sunday, 24, both from Cross River State.Investigation is ongoing",the PPRO concluded.
