The Islamic State in West African Province commonly known as ISWAP has carried out an attack on the Nigerian Civilian Joint Task Force (JTF) in Harang town of Borno State.

The attack carried out by ISWAP in Harang town is coming after the mortar attack of a Nigerian Army position in Bama town of Borno State which resulted to capturing of military equipment and death of soldiers.

Reports indicated that the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) was going after local militias loyal to the Nigerian Army in the region which includes the Civilian JTF.

Propaganda pictures released by ISWAP shows several vehicles and houses belonging to the Nigerian Army affiliated Civilian JTF on fire.

The Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) fighters were seen with standard AKM pattern rifles during the attack on Civilian JTF.

The Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) has continued to lay seige to communities in the Northeast region of Nigeria which has resulted to the loss of lives and properties for the Nigerian military and civilians.
