Today's Headlines: N100bn additional fund for armed forces not enough, Defense HQ says; Biden supports ceasefire in Gaza.

The director of production defence headquarters officer vice air marshal M.A yakubu on Monday made known to news men that the defense headquarters will need the sum of 600 billion naira to tackle purchases of arms and other projects to fight the security challenges confronting the name. According to him, 200 billion naira will be used each year for three years to tackle the arms purchase, the director made this known during a public hearing by the house committee on arms purchasing in Abuja.

Following pressure from advocacy groups and members of his party,president Joe Biden on Monday disclosed at the white house that he is in support of Gaza ceasefire.

According to the president, meetings are being held with Egypt and other countries, he made this known during a phone conversation with the Israeli prime minister.

Ahead of the African leaders summit in Paris, president Buhari on Monday was received at the Elysée palace by French president Emmanuel Macron and his wife.

The four days summit is to discuss on reshaping the African economy in the wake of the pandemic, he is expected to meet with other African leaders.
