The activities of Boko Haram terrorists and the Islamic State of Western African Province, ISWAP, have caused several deaths of innocent people and rendered many people homeless.

The government has taken several measures to end their activities in the northeast which appears to be the worst heat of the activities of the terrorist groups.

Since the Nigerian Army launched Operation Hadin Kai in the Northeast, the troops have been able to defeat members of Boko Haram and ISWAP in several areas and displaced people are currently being resettled in their ancestral homes.

The troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the theatre of war have also been receiving repentant Boko Haram and ISWAP members who surrendered themselves and pleaded for clemency.

However, available indicators have shown that ISWAP is currently recruiting massively to improve its strength after many of its members surrendered to Nigerian Army.

According to a report by Daily Post, the Nigerian Army raised fresh alarm that ISWAP has commenced massive recruitment.

The Army needs to act fast and prevent the terrorist group from recruiting innocent Nigerians into its fold to carry out more attacks. There are two things the Army can do to prevent the recruitment of the ISWAP.

Intensify The Ongoing Offensive Campaign

The first thing the Army needs to do is to intensify the ongoing offensive campaign against the terrorist groups by the troops of Operation Hadin Kai in the theatre of war.

The troops of Operation Hadin Kai has been able to dislodge the terrorist group in many areas which made many of their commanders to surrender to the Army, I believe if the Army can intensify the offensive campaign, it would make it difficult for the terrorist group to go out to the communities to recruit people into its fold.

Engage The Service Of Locals To Get Vital Information About The Recruitment

Another thing the Army also needs to do is to engage the service of locals to get vital information about the ISWAP recruitment, and know how they are carrying out the recruitment.

This will help the Army to go after the terrorist group and destabilize their plans and arrest their collaborators.
