Wanted high profile Boko Haram terrorist, arrested in Borno.

The Nigerian army have arrested, Yawi Modu, a high profile Boko Haram terrorist, who was declared wanted, long time ago. The Nigerian troops of Joint Task Force East Operation, apprehended the suspect, along Damboa-Wajiroko road, in Borno state.

According to the statement released on Thursday, September 9, by the spokesperson of the Nigerian Army, Brigadier-General Onyema Nwachukwu, the troops also raided Boko Haram Improvised Explosive Devices (IED) materials hub, located in Damboa local government area, in Borno state, and Gashua Local Government Area, Yobe state. 

He said that the troops also arrested a syndicate who supplies Urea Fertilizer used in making explosives, to terrorists. He said that the fighters of the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISAWP) and Boko Haram terrorists, are acquiring IED materials, to make explosive devices, which they use to attack citizens. 

Onyema Nwachukwu said that a total of 281 bags of 50kg Urea fertilizers, were recovered, while two distributors were arrested.
