According to CNN International news agency, Ukrainian Armed Forces intercepted a Russian hypersonic Kh-47 Kinzhal missile over Kyiv on May 4. Photos of the wreckage, purported to be part of the missile, reveal that the intercept was successful and the warhead destroyed midair.
Furthermore, the Russian military claims that the Kinzhal has a range of 2,000 kilometers and flies at 10 times the speed of sound, making it challenging to intercept.
However, Ukraine's Air Defense unit has successfully detected, tracked and defeated hypersonic missiles in the final stages of flight, as demonstrated by this latest feat.
Also, the Kremlin has touted its fighter jet-launched Kinzhal missile system as “unstoppable” by current Western weapons, but the successful interception by Ukraine's Western-made air defense system proves otherwise.
Finally, it would interest each and everyone of us to know that war which has been raging on in Ukraine has left countless number of casualties here and there.
