The ongoing clearance operations by the Nigerian military have continued to yield good results as more than a dozen of weapons and stockpiles were discovered by the Nigerian troops in collaboration with the Nigerian Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF).
A recent event revealed that a suicide bomber, Omar Al-Ansari was neutralized in an attempt to carry out a Vehicle-Borne Improvised Explosive Device (VBIED) attack against the position of the Nigerian military troops and the Multi-National Joint Task Force (MNJTF) in Arege in Abadam, Borno State.
According to a security analyst and counter-insurgency expert identified as Zagazola, several attempts has been made by the Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) to carry out Improvised Explosive Attack on the troops conducting the ongoing clearance operations across the region and a record number of the Jihadist’s attempts has been foiled by the Nigerian security operatives.
However, in the past few days, the terrorist groups have encountered significant losses and dropped from the previous record-high attacks on the region as the Nigerian Army has stepped up its battle against insurgency.
