“The government cannot surrender to blackmailers, hoodlums, and violent perpetrators,” he said.

He also advised those planning to visit the state with any form of violence to reconsider, saying that the "government is more than ever ready and prepared to keep Imo safe and secure."

Uzodinma urged people to go about their daily lives without fear of being molested or harassed.

This has however caused social media users to react as there has been rumors of military attacks and aggression towards Igbo's in the state.

Uzodinma has however stated his decision to clamp down on insecurity in the state.
