The insecurity caused by bandits in the northern region of the state has become a major problem in the country.
Despite many bandits that have been captured and kidnapped by the Nigeria army, they still continue to kill innocent people, kidnapped children and citizens of the country for ransom.

It was also reported that Sheikh Gumi warned that Nigeria would stop existing as a sovereign and united entity if the Federal Government declared bandits as terrorists.
One person who may not be happy with Sheikh Gumi going against federal government declaring bandits is Governor El rufai of Kaduna state.
The reason why he may not agree with Gumi is because some days back, Governor Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna State called on Federal Government to proscribe bandits as terrorists as a solution to end insurgency in the north.

He disclosed that if the current government declares bandits as terrorists it will help the Nigerian military “kill” them within the confines of international laws.

However, in tackling the source of insecurity in the northern region it is best for the government to act on the advice of Alhaji Muhammadu Abubakar, the Sultan of Sokoto, who said that for terrorism and radicalization to be tackled in Nigeria, there is a need to have an improved mass education system in the country among the citizens.
Dear distinguished readers, do you also agree with Sheikh Gumi that President Buhari administration should not label bandits as terrorist in the country ?
