Today's Headlines: Fashola Disclaims Campaign Poster, Tension As Bandits Attack Military Base

Former Lagos State Governor, Babatunde Fashola, has distanced himself from a presidential campaign poster circulating on social media.

The social media was awash at the weekend with a poster from a group presenting the Minister of Works and Housing Fashola and the Governor of Borno State, Prof. Babagana Zulum as presidential and vice-presidential candidates respectively of an unnamed political party.

Bandits have attacked a joint military base in Sabon Birni Local Government Area of Sokoto State, killing scores.

Our reporter learnt that the base located at Dama village is codenamed “Burkusuma camp”.

A former chairman of Sabon Birni, Idris Muhammad Gobir, fondly called Danchadi who confirmed the attack, said many security operatives were missing.

Anthony Joshua has insisted that a fight against Tyson Fury could still happen in the future, even without his world heavyweight titles.

The 2021 All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) is set to begin tomorrow, September 27, as African Union Commission (AUC) and International Committee of All Africa Music Awards (AFRIMA) released the 2021 nominees list on Wednesday, September 22.

Over 8,880 songs were submitted for adjudication, with over 400 from artistes in the 30 continental and 10 regional categories cutting across African talents and creatives living on the continent and in the Diaspora.

Bianca Ojukwu said in Awka on Sunday that she shunned Saturday’s flag-off of APGA governorship campaign to protest “posthumous disrespect’’ to her husband Dim Chukwuemeka Ojukwu.

She laid the blame of the disrespect on the doorstep of APGA’s leadership.
