In continuation of the robust clearance operations against armed bandits and other sundry criminals in the North West, the Nigerian troops, has continued to achieve successes in it's various operations.
John Eneche the Army Media Coordinator, while giving an update on the military operations in the North West region of the country on Saturday, revealed that upon acting on credible intelligence, the Nigerian troops in the first instance, arrested one bandit informant at Isa-Matete Junction in Isa local government area of Sokoto State.
Also, another 5 suspected bandits while displaying cows, sheep's and a goat earlier rustled from Gabiya village, for sale at Bingi market in Maru local government area of Zamfara State, was arrested.
Furthermore, troops of Defence Headquarters Special Operation Forces, engaged some marauding armed bandits in a gun duel at Jigawar Mallamai in Danmusa local government area of Katsina State. In this operation, 4 bandits were killed, one AK 47 rifle and 21 motorcycles were recovered.
In another development, troops conducted clearance operation on suspected bandits hideouts at Garin Maza, Tamuske, and Garin Bagwari villages in Sabon Birni local government of Sokoto State, where some bandits were killed, and their camps destroyed.
The Army Headquaters have consequently applauded the gallant troops for being courageous in the face of death.
