Zamfara Governor To Demolish Houses Harbouring Weapons Suppliers In Zamfara

The Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has vowed to demolish any house providing refuge for weapons suppliers or informants aiding banditry in the state.

The governor revealed this on Tuesday when his Sokoko State counterpart, Aminu Tambuwal, visited him along with his council members who came to sympathise with the government and people over the recent bandit’s attack in some parts of the state.

Matawalle said he had ordered for serious disciplinary measures, including the demolition of any house where informants, weapons suppliers, and people who are abetting banditry activities are arrested in the state with immediate effect.

He said the action became necessary in order to fully combat the resurgence of armed banditry activities in some parts of the state which is being assisted by the people who are living mostly in the cities and providing information to the bandits in the bushes.

God Is Set To End Terrorism In Nigeria

Worried by the recurring insecurity and other social vices wreaking havoc in Nigeria, a religious movement, the Christian Movement for the transformation of the Nigerian System of Government to Biblical Theocracy, has disclosed that God is set to end killings and other social vices plaguing the country.

The leader of the Christian group, Ifeanyichukwu Kelvin Lawrence, made the disclosure at a World Press Conference on Tuesday in Warri, Delta State.

He said God would intervene via an urgent change of the country’s name from the Federal Republic of Nigeria to the Sovereign Theocratic State of Saints (STSS) as well as the immediate abolition of the country’s 1999 Constitution and its replacement with a divine based constitution.

NGOs Aiding Terrorism Financing Will Be Sanctioned

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission has warned that Non-Governmental Organisations aiding terrorism financing and money laundering would face the full wrath of the law.

The anti-graft agency, in a statement, restated that it was mandatory to report to the Special Control Unit against Money Laundering, any transaction through any formal financial channels in excess of $10,000 and any cash donations in excess of $1,000.

Govt Workers Stage Nationwide Protest

Legislative Aides to the Senators and members of House of Representatives, on Wednesday, staged a peaceful protest at the lobby of the National Assembly chambers in the bid to press home their demands for payment of 2019 outstanding salaries and implementation of the new national minimum wage.

They also demanded immediate implementation of Consolidated Salary Structure (CONLESS), Duty Tour Allowance (DTA), among others.

The protest which coincides with the plenary session of both chambers prompted a beef-up of security at the entrances leading into both chambers.
