A 4-year old Muslim boy was reported to UK's controversial anti-terrorism program called Prevent, The boy, who is from the West Midlands and is a Muslim, was referred to Prevent in September 2019 after saying that his father had “guns and bombs in his shed”. This was later interpreted to mean he was discussing the popular video game Fortnite, armed police were sent to his home after he was overheard talking about 'Guns and bombs in his shed' at his after-school club
The details sparked anger and a fresh call for the scheme called Prevent to be abolished, public bodies including schools and nurseries are obliged to report anyone they suspect could be at the risk of radicalization, but the child's mother believes her son wouldn't have been reported or harassed if he had been white
