The Recent killings By Suspected Bandits In Sokoto State Are Unfortunate

Late last month, a legion of some dreaded bandits reportedly attacked a military formation in Sabon Birni Local Government Area (LGA) of Sokoto State. And in the horrible invasion, a number of the members of the Joint Task Forces (JTF), including soldiers, police and NSCDC forces, was said to have been killed. And according to a report by Premium News, multiple sources attributed the gory incident to the handiwork of the feared bandit kingpin, Mohammed Belo (Turji Kachalla) and his foot soldiers. And to corroborate that claim, the infamous criminals had only relocated to the state from Zamfara where the ongoing clampdown on them and others has been in top gear.

About three days later, another massacre erupted in the same LGA. But the killings were of the locals. According to reports, the mass termination took place as the Muslims were preparing for their daily early morning prayers. In addition to the killings, they also abducted some other villagers, as well as looted and destroyed valuable property.

While the winds of the above two different massacres of the innocent ones in Sokoto State have not yet settled, the third one ensued. And in the dastardly act that happened at a market in Goronyo LGA of the state, according to Daily Post, the barbaric elements allegedly killed 40 persons.

Besides Turji Kachalla, another wanton killer bandit who is capable of the above level of inhumanity is his alleged former trainer and boss, Halilu Sububu. And it was recently reported by the Premium Times that he too has newly left Zamfara State for Sokoto, perhaps, for his safety as a result of the lingering Military incursions in the former.

From the foregoing about the recent presence of the two very dangerous bandit leaders - Turji Kachalla and Halilu Sububu - in Sokoto State, it will be recalled that the kinds of killings that are newly going on there had never been found there prior. And they just need to be brought down as quickly as possible before they do worse. And the locals too must assist the JTF in the anti-banditry war by feeding them with every single information they have about the outlaws at their disposals.
