Tension is seriously building up in Jerusalem, as Hamas militants in the Gaza Strip fired several rockets towards the city in a major escalation after hundreds of Palestinians were hurt on Friday during a clash with Israeli forces around Al-Aqsa Mosque.
According to Israel Defense Forces, the terror groups fired 1 rocket every 3 minutes towards Israel in the last 18 hours.
In response to the continuous rocket fire from the Gaza into Israel, the Israel Defense Forces launched a missile at Hamas terror targets in Gaza, and in the process, 2 rocket launchers, 2 military posts and 8 Hamas terror fighters were neutralized.
The terrorists in Gaza went ahead to fire a barrage of rockets at central and southern Israel, but the rockets were intercepted with the Iron Dome Aerial Defense System and struck back at the Hamas terror targets.
The fire exchange which started since yesterday, escalated till this Tuesday morning. As at 4am this Tuesday, the terrorist groups in Gaza have fired over 150 missiles non-stop towards Israel.
It was gathered that 2 rockets fired towards Israel exploded in Gaza, endangering Palestinian civilians.
Palestinian health officials in the Gaza Strip have reported that at least 20 people, including nine children, have been killed in the exchange.
