Military sources told TheCable that the Air Force had carried out a series of airstrikes on Sunday against troops while trying to attack Boko Haram insurgents.
Air Force spokesman Edward Gabkwet told TheCable news that he was there when the incident occurred on Monday.
He stated that the terrorists attacked a military base in Mainok and allegedly overpowered the Nigerian troops and they immediately seek for reinforcement.
Earlier today, Sahara Reporters reported that, in response to an emergency call by the Nigerian military, after the Boko Haram terrorist group attacked their base, the Nigerian Air Force mistakenly killed up to 20 Nigerian soldiers. It is reported that the Nigerian Air Force are confused because the military and Boko Haram are wearing the same military uniforms.
After this unfortunate incident took place, it was reported by Sahara Reporters on Monday, Biafra leader Mazi Nnamdi Kanu published a comment regarding the incident.
