What Buhari mentioned as he vowed to crush bandits

Despite emerging security challenges in northern Nigeria, the federal government has continued to fight the insecurity.

Despite the efforts of the Buhari-led government to end the activities of the bandits, the armed groups have continued to launch attacks on innocent Nigerians because of how they operate. The bandits hide in thick forests and launch attacks on innocent Nigerians in the northern region.

A report by Daily Trust Newspaper explained that President Muhammadu Buhari has vowed to crush bandits who have made life difficult for many Nigerians. 

The president made the declaration after the bandits killed over 30 persons in the Goronyo area of Sokoto State on Sunday.

However, President Muhammadu Buhari made two important statements as he promised to crush the armed groups in the northern Nigeria. 

Firstly, President Muhammadu Buhari noted that the days of the bandits are numbered and disclosed that the military capabilities of Nigeria have been boosted with the recent acquisition and deployment of advanced equipment that will help in the fight against the armed groups.  

The President disclosed that with the deployment of the recently acquired advanced equipment, the military is strategizing on how to crush the bandits and will no longer have a place to hide.

Secondly, President Muhammadu Buhari noted that the bandits are living in the fool's paradise of invincibility, because they believed they can hide from the security agents but will soon dawn on them that there is no place to hide.  

Recall that the Minister of Information and Culture, Alhaji Lai Mohammed, had earlier disclosed that the acquisition and deployment of 10 Super Tucano fighter jets have helped in the fight against bandits in the northern region.
