Over 2, 783 Has Terrorists Surrendered In The Last One Month - DHQ Says

The Defence Headquarters have disclosed that over 2, 783 terrorists along side with their families have surrendered between the period of September 2 and 30, 2021 as a result of the ongoing operations in the North-East and NorthWest by the military troops.

This was disclosed by the Acting Director, Defence Media Operations in the Defence Headquarters Abuja, Brigadier General Benard Onyeuko while briefing newsmen in Abuja recently.

He narrated how troops had encounters with terrorists at different locations in the North-East including Mazga-Kamuga, Damboa Wass-Bitta-Balo-Gwaza and Damboa Balabulin-Maiduguri roads in the state of Borno.

Onyeuko therefore, assured Nigerians that the Armed Forces of Nigeria and other security agencies would continue in the fight against criminalities in all parts of the country.

However, some Nigerians have expressed dissatisfaction with the acceptance of repentant terrorists without the rehabilitation of their victims.

The Federal Government has however, assured that those that deserve to face the law will not be spared.
