Many soldiers feared dead, weapons stolen as Bokoharam ambushes soldiers in Borno

Several soldiers have been reported dead with military vehicles, several weapons and ammunition stolen as the dreaded terrorist group, Boko Haram, launched a fresh attack on soldiers in Borno State on Thursday.

According to the information made available by Sahara reporters, the soldiers were on patrol with a mission to clear some Bokoharam elements following the intelligence that was gathered when they were ambushed by the terrorists at Monguno area of Borno State, a community which is about 100 km to Maiduguri, the state capital. Weapons belonging to the military were also stolen by the terrorists.

A source who spoke with Sahara reporters revealed that the brutal attack lasted for several hours leading to several casualties and the loss of lives.

This is coming a few hours after army troops who were on a clearance patrol on Wednesday morning around Burimari village of Ngazai Local Government of Borno State were attacked and injured by the Islamic State-backed faction of Boko Haram, the Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP).
