Amid the ongoing terrorist activities currently ravaging the northern part of the country, a disturbing report from Peoples Gazette has revealed how the Boko Haram (BH) Islamic sect has taken over at least 500 communities in Niger State.

Further reports disclosed how these terrorists had also threatened to grasp hold of the Shiroro Hydro Power station which is said to be one of Nigeria's largest power infrastructure.
In the light of this heartbreaking development, it's necessary to consider that the unity of Nigeria has now been threatened the more considering the fact that series of ethnic agitations to disintegrate the country has been going for so many years now. Consequently, now that these Boko Haram insurgents have started dominating most parts of the North my question is; Are these insurgents now trying to pull out and create their own territory/country from Nigeria?

At this juncture, one wouldn't be mistaken when one says that these insurgents have now drawn their battle line with the Nigerian government because no group, or organization has the power or right to dominate and claim any part of the country so far we are still under a democratic government.

Because these Boko Haram insurgents have embarked on the process of dominating most parts of the North, I wouldn't be misunderstood or misinterpreted when I say that the aim of these terrorists is to tear the country apart and plunge her into anarchy by creating their own territory out of her.
