When we talk of people who have great chances to rule Nigeria, of course, President Muhammadu Buhari is one of them. He has ruled Nigeria for two good terms both during the military and the civilian. Although, he is still in his second tenure of civilian rule; no one can dispute the fact that he is trying his best.
Over the years, Nigerians have been blessed with leaders who are not depending on politics alone, they have other side hustles which they actually get money from like farming and all other lucrative professions. But Buhari as a president and as an ex.military president is an example of someone who has his own business before he eventually showed interest in politics.
Although, the president was a military man who later became a military head of state then, he has been devoted to his herding work as a Fulani man.
Just like other Nigerian politicians who were once in the military, president Buhari is a combination of three things: A military man, Farmer and a president. However, i will like to us to know more about these three sides of Buhari:
President Buhari As A Soldier/ Military Head Of State:
When we talk of icons who have made great impact in Nigeria military, of course the current president of Nigeria can not be left out. According to sources, Buhari joined the military at the age of 19 in 1962 when he enrolled in the Nigeria Military Training College.
During his course at the military, Buhari took many courses which got him promoted to different senior ranks. According to Wikipedia, As early as the age of 20 Buhari was commissioned a second lieutenant and appointed Platoon head of the Second Infantry Battalion in Abeokuta, Nigeria. This is to show how vibrant he was as a military man.
According to several sources, Buhari took parts in many coup d tat including the one that led to the death and removal of Agunyi Ironsi, and also the Coup of 1966 which resulted to the death of the northern premier, Ahmadu Bello.
However, Buhari became the Nigeria Head of State between 1983 and 1985. During that period, he formed an initiative which was called "War Against Indiscipline". It was very glaring then that Buhari/Idiagbon regime was a very serious government who hated Indiscipline.
However, see some of his pictures as a military man:
To further show his involvement in the military, President Buhari wore Military uniform in 2016 to celebrate the Nigerian Army state as he inspected the troops in Zamfara.
Buhari As A Farmer:
Of course, when he retired from Nigerian military, Buhari continued with his farming work as he kept his herd somewhere in Daura Kastina state.
The president is a leader who has interest in agriculture and has been doing all his best to invest in agriculture. He started an initiative during the military then "Operation feed the nation" this is to say, how much the president loves agriculture. Also, during the course of this present administration, the president has been involved in Agricultural sectors as he has been giving loans to farmers accross the country.
In 2015, prior to the election, Buhari took some pictures in his own farm. Also before 2019 election, he took some other picture in his farm which are shown below:
Buhari As A President:
People may find it difficult to believe that Buhari is really trying has a president. Of course you will find it difficult to satisfy a lot of people even when you are an angel.
Being a civilian president of Nigeria, a lot of achievements can be traced including the development of agricultural sector and the ongoing River Niger bridge.
He was fondly called Mr integrity as many people believe that he is a very trustworthy and honest politician who is always committed to fighting corruption.
However, check out some of the amazing pictures of Buhari as the president of Nigeria:
