Boko Haram: Femi Fani Kayode reacts to reported death of ISWAP leader, Abu Musab Al-Barnawi

Former Minister of Aviation, Dr. Femi Fani Kayode has taken to his social media handles to react to the death of the vicious leader of the Islamic State of West African Province (ISWAP), Habib bin Yusuf who is popularly known as Abu Musab Al-Barnawi.

Abu Musa Al-Barnawi is the son of the founder of Boko Haram, Mohammad Yusuf who died in 2009 in the hands of security forces after he was said to have launched a war against the Nigerian government.

Abubakar Shekau took over from him (Mohammad Yusuf) and lead the terrorist group on a solid footing in the Sambisa forest for years before he was overpowered and killed, in May 2021 by Abu Musab Al-Barnawi after a leader tussle between the group.

Barely two months after the death of the notorious Bokoharam leader, Shekau, came the report of the death of Abu Musab Al-Barnawi. While reacting to the report, Femi Fani Kayode said the killing of Al-Barnawi is the best news after the death of Shekau and other terrorist leaders.

Reactions trailed the post as many Nigerians praises the Nigerian military's onslaught on the terrorist group, while some others prayed that he will not resurrect like the late Shekau whose death was reported several times before he was finally confirmed dead by the group in May 2021.
