Where Is Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini? A Critical Cause For Concern. [Opinion]

On the 22nd of June 2020, Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini of the Nigerian Army, uploaded a video on Social Media, where he spoke about the wrong activities, taking place in the Nigerian Army.

On the video, Lance Corporal Martins berated the activities of his superiors, which included negligence of the men at the battlefield and most importantly the inferiority of the weapons of the Nigerian Army. He further accused his bosses of causing the death of so many men of the Nigerian Army, who were at the battlefield, fighting insurgents, as their weapons were too inferior to thoroughly neutralize insurgent activities.

This accusation, did not go down well with his bosses, as he was immediately arrested, by the Nigeria Army.

In view of this arrest, many Nigerians and even Non-governmental organizations, have come out to speak against the arrest of Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini, but the Nigerian Army is yet to give a robust response.

One striking fact, remains that the House of Representatives, clearly stated that Lance Corporal Martins, has Freedom of Speech. Even more, the House of Representatives stated that under the law, the Nigerian Army, should not arrest any individual for more than two(days).

Regardless of all of these, nothing has been heard about Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini, neither have the Nigerian Army released a press statement, as regards where he is and the necessary punishments (if any), to be meted out on him.

We call on our patriotic Nigerian Army, to speak to Nigerians and assuage their fears, as Nigerians still ask: Where is Lance Corporal Martins Idakpini?

God bless the Nigerian Army.

God bless Nigeria.

Dear Friends, what is your take on this issue of crirtical concern?
