The Defence Headquarters spokesperson Col. Onyema Nwachukwu speaking to newsmen, Saturday May 22,2021 in Abuja reveals that after the Military plane conveying the Chief of Army Staff Lt. Gen. Ibrahim Attahiruand 10 others got to Kaduna State airport, the plane couldn't land due to the bad weather.
Col. Onyema Nwachukwuspeaking to the newsmen says that the Chief of Defence Staff in person of Major General Lucky Iraborhas constituted a board of accident investigative team to unravel the reasons behind the plane crash that has claimed the lives of the Chief of Army Staff and 10 other military personnels.
He says that they pray for the souls of the gallant Chief of Army Staff and other miliary personnels who were with him. That the Army solicits for the support and understanding of Nigerians at this time, in the face of this tragic incident.
That they wish to state that the Armed Forces of Nigeria remains resolute in combating the insecurity challenges bedeviling our nation. The souls of the departed heroes will not be in vain.
