Tension As Military Helicopters Hover In Owerri

There is palpable tension in Imo State as the military have laid serious siege at all nooks and crannies of the state capital, Owerri, scaring residents with firearms.

Daily Post learnt that two military helicopters have kept hovering around the city since three days, mounting surveillance to ensure that they were not taken unawares by the unknown gunmen.

The development may have come as a result of the recent attack on governor Hope Uzodinma’s house in Omuma.

Recall that the state in a couple of days has witnessed unprecedented attacks from unknown gunmen which led to several loss of lives and property.

God Has Asked Me To Withdraw Support For Buhari - Mbaka

The situation of the country have given so many prominent Nigerian concern to the extent that they have started reacting towards it.

Recently, Spiritual Director of Adoration Ministry, Enugu, Rev. Fr. Ejike Mbaka, has lambasted President Muhammadu Buhari, saying God is not happy with his government because of the insecurity and killings in the country.

Remember there was a time God asked me to support you people (Buhari regime), now God asked me to withdraw and prophesy against you.

Mbaka also praised the leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) Nnamdi Kanu, for speaking against the marginalisation of the Igbo people in Nigeria.

Nigeria Becoming Failed State - Peter Obi

The Vice Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the 2019 general elections, Peter Obi, has called on Nigerians irrespective of their political parties, to work together in fighting against the security challenges affecting the country.

The former Governor of Anambra State identified the issues affecting the country as insecurity, poverty, and unemployment.

According to Obi, Nigeria is fast becoming a failed state.

The series of Attacks Lunched by Bandits, Herdsmen and Unknown gunmen have given so many prominent politician concern to the extent that they have started reacting towards it.

Recently, A federal lawmaker on Thursday said the National Assembly will move to impeach President Muhammadu Buhari if the Executive does not act on its security resolutions.

The House of Representatives on Wednesday inaugurated a 40-man committee to find a solution to the country’s security challenges.

The Committee is set to hold a four-day security summit in May.

Speaking on a Channels TV programme, the lawmaker representing Jos South/Jos East Federal Constituency, Dachung Bagos said impeachment processes will be initiated if the summit’s resolutions are not acted upon by the Executive.
