A Cessna Citation CJ3 special mission aircraft of the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA) has been seen in a video flying over the Gulf of Guinea.
The Cessna Citation CJ3 special mission aircraft was seen flying at a high altitude and uniform speed over a location allegedly said to be the Gulf of Guinea.
This was likely another maritime surveillance and intelligence gathering mission by NIMASA in a bid to keep the Nigerian waters safe for passage.
The Cessna Citation CJ3 special mission aircraft belonging to NIMASA was identified as Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 957, which is one out of two special mission aircrafts acquired by the Nigerian Maritime Administration and Safety Agency (NIMASA).
It is a great thing to know that these aircrafts are now operational courtesy of the Nigerian Air Force (NAF) 107 Air Maritime Group (AMG) in Benin City.
The special mission aircrafts will be used to protect Nigeria's territorial waters, mainly against illegal fishing, smuggling, oil theft and sea piracy using its electro-optical and infrared high resolution camera and long range radar on intelligence gathering and maritime surveillance and reconnaissance missions.
