There is nothing like freedom, when one's freedom is tampered with, it leads to depression and frustration. All humans deserve to be free from oppression, abduction, fear, and anxiety. In Nigeria, the new cause of insecurity is from the hands of armed bandits that kidnap people for money or ransom, and anybody that refuses to pay is subjected to different types of torture or might even be killed.
The bandits dared to attack a construction site in Lekki, where they abducted a retired Air Marshal Smith. Since his abduction, the bandits that kidnapped him are being trailed by security agencies in the South West. Because it would have been a slap on the face of all security agencies in the zone if the high-profile Nigerian is not rescued. According to TVCnews, the kidnapped abducted Air Vice Marshal Smith regains freedom on Saturday after youths in collaboration with security operatives stormed forests to search for his abductors.
The Air Vice-Marshal Sikiru Smith (rtd) who was abducted in the Lekki area of Lagos earlier in the week has regained his freedom and was released by Security agents who stormed his kidnapper's hideout at Lufape Village on the Lagos/Ibadan Expressway. Watch the video of his rescue here. From the video, security operatives who led the rescue operation were seen holding 2 AK-47 rifles seized from the bandits who were handcuffed and being interrogated of their names.
Many Nigerians have reacted to the abduction of the retired military personnel, that is why the step taken by the security operatives and the youths of Shagamu should be commended in all ramifications. It is a sign that the end to banditry and terrorism is coming to an end because when the people rise against the evil of society, the end of such evil has come. However, when people leave evil to grow in society and mature among people, it becomes dangerous to curtail.
