
It is no longer news that Nigeria is bedeviled with all manner of insecurities, ranging from incessant kidnapping of school children, banditry, the rampaging killer herdsmen, and criminal activities of unknown gunmen who go about destroying and burning government properties.
There is tension all over the country and people are living in fear. Many Nigerians, especially women and children in the North East have been displaced from their ancestral homes due to the onslaught by the Boko Haram terrorists and bandits. Unknown gunmen are also wreaking havoc everywhere.
According to a report in Independent Newspaper, the traditional ruler of Wawa in Borgu Local Government of Niger State, Dr. Mahmud Aliyu who was kidnapped on Sunday has been rescued. The Police spokesperson, DSP Wassu Abiodun revealed to News Agency of Nigeria that the traditional ruler was rescued on Friday through the effort of policemen and vigilantes. He also said Dr.Mahmud Aliyu is receiving medical attention at the moment.
