Amid the numerous speculations concerning the reason why the Federal government is yet to declare bandits as terrorists, the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu has come out in a report from Daily Post to justify the reason why the Federal government is yet to proscribe these bandits who have been responsible for the numerous abductions of innocent students in the North East, and the displacement of thousands of Nigerians in the North West parts of the country as a terrorist group.

Garba who referred to the proscription of the Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB) group stressed that the Federal government had only proscribed the group but it didn't issue a shoot-at-sight directive just like it did to the bandits. Consequently, after assimilating the report, here are 2 things Garba made clear in his statement.
• According to Garba's tone of speech, he inadvertently made it known that there is no need for anyone to compel the Federal government to proscribe these bandits since they are often being bombarded day, and night by our troops who have earlier sworn to end insecurity in the North and other parts of the country.

• Garba also noted that despite the fact that the IPOB group has been proscribed by the Federal government that they aren't experiencing the level of hostility the AK-47 wielding bandits who are consistently being shot on sight by the military are experiencing.
