"Your collective efforts have resulted in the relative peace enjoyed in North-East today" - Buhari commends military

President Buhari has commended the efforts of the Service Chiefs and the Nigerian Military in the fight against insurgency in the North-East region.

The president during his visit to personnel of the Armed Forces and security agencies in Operation HADIN KAI at the Maimalari Cantonment, in Borno State, said that the relative peace enjoyed in the region is a product of the collective efforts of the military and the service chiefs.

According to the president, his administration has provided the Armed Forces of Nigeria a firm strategy and clear direction to secure the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Nigeria.

In a statement titled; "WE OWE YOU A DEBT OF GRATITUDE, GIVE NO BREATHING SPACE TO TERRORISTS, CRIMINALS, PRESIDENT BUHARI TELLS MILITARY, SECURITY AGENCIES", the president commended and remembered all military personnel who paid the supreme sacrifice to ensure that Nigeria remains indivisible and secure.

"Your collective efforts have resulted in the relative peace being enjoyed in the region today", President Buhari said.

This statement was made available online by the Senior Special Assistant to the President on Media and Publicity, Garba Shehu. He posted it via his Facebook account.

President Buhari went on a one-day official visit to Borno State, he is expected to commission some projects executed by the Governor of Borno State, Babagana Umara Zulum.
