The Islamic State in West African Province (ISWAP) has launched a massive attack in Rann, a town that shares a border with Cameroon. Rann is also the headquarters of Kala Balge Local Government Area of Borno State.
Heavily armed fighters were said to have stormed the town unexpectedly in the early hours of Monday being 30th of August, 2021.
Details of the attack are still unclear but they reportedly set many houses on fire, destroyed many properties and engaged troops in a fatal gun battle.
According to sources, many residents of the town fled to Cameroon as a result of the attack.
A resident who happened to be an eye witness said that the insurgents allowed civilians to leave the town unharmed.
However, another information gotten from another source said that the ISWAP fighters fled the town following a military reinforcement.
The rate of insecurity is increasing at a very fast rate. Could it be that the agenda to Islamize Nigeria is actually true?
What is your take on this?
