It is understood that an unspecified number of the bandits were neutralized in the raid.
This was made known by the Senior Special Assistant to the Maiha Council Chairman on Media and Publicity, Abdulganiyu Pakka.
He also revealed that three grenade bombs were also recovered from the bandits.
However, the efforts of the troops have been hailed by the Maiha Council Chairman, Dr Idi Ali, as he urged residents to be conscious and report suspicious persons to the relevant security agencies.
It is feared that as a result of the assault on bandits by Nigerian troops in Zamfara and Katsina, the gunmen could move into other states to continue their activities.
