Why Biafran Agitators Should Embrace Peace As FG Plans To Pay Ex-Biafran Soldiers

It is no longer news that the Minister of Defence, Major General Bashir Magashi (retd.), has said a total of 102 ex-Biafran soldiers granted presidential pardon have been captured for payment of gratuity and other emolument by the Military Pensions Board. He stated, "It will interest you to know that the Military Pensions Board just concluded the documentation of ex-Biafran service personnel totalling 102 who were pardoned by Mr. President. There are reasons why Biafran agitators should embrace peace, as the FG plans to pay ex-Biafran soldiers.

The federal government has forgiven them and they will not face justice for fighting against the country just to go their separate ways. The 102 ex-Biafran soldiers who have been granted presidential pardon have been captured for payment of gratuity and other emoluments by the Military Pensions Board. However, this is sufficient reason for Biafran agitators to lay down their arms and embrace peace; the federal government of Nigeria's sensible move is proof that we are all Nigerians.

The people of the Southeast region have been trying several ways to make sure Nigeria splits into two. People of the Southeast region have always alleged that they are marginalized and not given a sense of belonging by the federal government. However, I urge the Biafran agitators to embrace peace and join hands to help Nigeria flourish and become a better country. Nigeria will become a developed nation if it can maintain unity.
