Kogi Community Cries Out For Water And Basic Amenities

Citizens of Apamsede neighborhood in Adavi LGA of Kogi State, have cried out to the government of the state, public-spirited individuals, and corporate organizations to come to their assistance in providing basic social amenities for them.

Comrade Salawu, the man who represents the neighborhood, declared that Apamsede village and farm center is a fast developing area situated after Chari-Maigumeri barracks and is not yet linked up with electricity.

The community is situated a few kilometers from Lokoja.

People in the area depend on a small river as the source of their water, which dries out in the dry season.

The people living there are mostly women, and children, they walk a very long distance in search of water before they can get to the stream.

Aside from the hardship of electricity and water, the neighborhood is barely accessible due to fact that the only road that leads to the place is in a terrible condition.

Since 2017, they have been writing to the state government many times, via the ministry of rural development. The state government should kindly do something to assist them.

Their neighborhood has been in continual darkness and they don't have access to roads and drinkable water. The scarcity of these fundamental amenities has deprived them of a good life.
