On Friday, Norwegian authorities confirmed the arrest of a 51-year-old Briton suspected of having triggered a bomb threat in mid-flight of a plane of the airline company Ryanair. The aircraft, which took off from Standsted at the start of the day, was finally escorted by Danish F16s, who came to help Norway.

The plane was escorted to Gardermoen International Airport, some 50 km from Oslo, where an important security device was deployed. On site, snipers and deminers inspected the aircraft while the 142 passengers on board were all escorted.

False bomb threat on a London-Olso flight

In fact, a 51-year-old Briton is suspected of having planned this false alarm. Information confirmed by the police on the occasion of the publication of a press release. An investigation is underway and the individual will be heard as soon as possible. According to the first leaks, the man in question had in fact written a threat on a piece of paper, which was given to the teams on board, 40 minutes before the landing.

Ryanair, already targeted this week

It is not the first time that Ryanair has been the subject of an alert of this kind. On Tuesday, a plane connecting the city of Krakow in Poland to that of Dublin in Ireland was forced to land in London on an emergency basis. In the toilet, a note claiming that explosives were scattered on board was found. Two individuals were arrested following intervention by British law enforcement.
