After reviewing Babajide Sanwo-first Olu's term as governor of Lagos State, the Muslim Rights Concern, or MURIC, said that it will support his campaign for a second term.
The group's director, Prof. Ishaq Akintola, said in a statement on Monday that the governor's scorecard shows enormous progress in crucial areas.
"The people of Lagos state will join their counterparts from other states of the federation to exercise their franchise in a nationwide governorship election on Saturday, March 11," the announcement says in part. Sanwo-Olu is the greatest candidate, in our humble opinion, and we implore Lagosians to vote for him regardless of their religious affiliation. "Sanwo-Olu has elevated Lagos within his first four years. His notable accomplishments include the construction of the red and blue rail lines and the renovation of the water transportation system using high capacity boats purchased by the Lagos State Ferry Services (LAGFERRY).
If you support Sanwo-Olu, you're also supporting his mentor Tinubu. This time, Muslims would support Babajide Sanwo-Olu, a Christian. He merits our votes for his outstanding achievement.
It could also be important to inform Lagos State's Muslims that Sanwo-Olu granted instructions for the distribution of the hijab circular. The good people of Lagos are thus urged to turn out in large numbers to vote for Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, he said.
