PDP Can Win Without Wike- Atiku.

The dust over the presidential primary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the choice of Delta State Governor Ifeanyi Okowa as running mate by its presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, has not settled. Although Atiku and Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike met yesterday in Abuja at the instance of the party’s Board of Trustees (BoT), led by Senator Walid Jibrin, a source said it did not lead to a truce.

The meeting was hosted by former Information and Culture Minister Prof. Jerry Gana at his residence. At a meeting with BoT members on Wednesday, Atiku boasted that PDP can win next year’s election without many votes from Rivers State.

He said there was no cause for alarm if Wike did not want to fall in line with him.

Chris Eze Dumps APC, Joins Labour Party

Nigeria’s former Ambassador to India, Maj.-Gen. Chris Eze (rtd.), has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC, for Labour Party.

Eze, from Udenu Local Government Area (LGA) of Enugu State, hinged his decision on the Muslim-Muslim presidential ticket of the APC.

He disclosed this in a letter dated Aug. 4, 2022, addressed to the Chairman, APC, Udunedem Ward in Udenu LGA and made available to newsmen on Friday in Enugu.

The retired Major General said that his decision to quit the party was due to the controversy that had trailed the nomination of the party’s flag-bearers in the 2023 presidential election.

LP Guber Candidate Arrested In Plateau

Plateau state Labour Party gubernatorial candidate, Yohana Margif, has been arrested by police officers in Abuja.

Mr Margif was whisked away on Thursday along the busy Kubwa expressway in the Federal Capital Territory.

Confirming the arrest to Peoples Gazette on Friday, Mr Margif’s running mate, Jack Dung Bot, said that he wasn’t ready to speak because he was “too emotional,” and also “trying to put himself together.”

He, however, promised to reach out when he gets his composure in check

We’re heading for tribunal, says APC chair.

The Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, Prince Gboyega Famodun, has said the defeat suffered by the candidate of the party, Governor Adegboyega Oyetola, in the election won by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate, Senator Ademola Adeleke, is temporary.

He said the party would head for the tribunal to challenge the victory of Adeleke, who polled 403, 371 votes against Oyetola, who scored 375,027 votes.

Muslim-Muslim Ticket'll Not Affect South- South Vites- Delta APC.


All Progressives Congress Delta State chapter has thrown its weight behind the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket, saying that Muslim-Muslim ticket will not derail the state and South-South people from voting for the party.

The immediate past State Chairman of the party, Mr. Jones Erue, who stated this on Friday, said APC in the state strongly backed the ticket to a resounding electoral victory come 2023.

He said, “Delta APC is working assiduously in tandem with relevant stakeholders nationwide to deliver the Tinubu/Shettima presidential ticket. The truth must be said that Delta State APC is highly committed to deliver the Tinubu/Shettima ticket in the State on the next presidential election.
