Erling Haaland Speaks On The Premier League Title Race

Manchester City goalscorer Erling Haaland is confident his side will replace Arsenal at the top of the Premier League table at the end of the season.

The Norwegian's goal on Saturday gave City three points in a 1-0 win over Crystal Palace at the Etihad Stadium.

He released a statement through the website Cityzen.

"With this distance, we just need to focus on ourselves," he said.

“We host them (Arsenal) at home and still have a lot of games to play." Nothing has been decided yet. I love it (the title race); it's England; it's something I've watched all my life.

"I'm enjoying every second of it." "It's good to be in the middle of it."

The 22-year-old center-back is a cheat code for Pep Guardiola's men, contributing 34 goals this season while conceding 28 times.

His desire to score brings him closer to the record for most goals set by Alan Shearer (34) in a single season in the Premier League.

The record was set when Shearer was still a striker for Blackburn in the 1994–95 season. “Of course, I don't want to miss the opportunity. "I had a goal in the first half that I should have scored; there was a little thing on the grass that made the ball bounce higher,” continued the Norwegian.

“Everybody knows how important this win is for us.

“We have to continue." I always say that, but it's true. I'm not worried when the score is 0-0. I do what I do every game; I focus on my game. It's not bad; we have to carry on. Like I said, it's not easy, but I'm really proud.

“We have to play in different ways." Of course, other teams have adapted to City's style of play because, in the last five years, we have won four Premier League titles.

"It's normal." What can I do? "We just have to try to do our best and show off," he concluded.

He joined Bundesliga side Borussia Dortmund in the summer of 2022 for a fee of €60 million, and it was rumored Real Madrid would be interested in signing him if Manchester City were found guilty of 100 transfer violations against them.
